Selected from hundreds of photographs taken over 20 years, the images in this book trace the evolution of a neighborhood through its walls, storefronts, and everyday moments. Many of the scenes captured no longer exist, and many of the people who shaped them have moved on — making this collection a kind of Mission memoir, a portrait in time that honors the resilience, creativity, and layered history of this beloved community.

Join me at Hunters Point Shipyard Open Studios, April 26-27, 2025, a biannual event when many artists (more than 100) open our studios to the public. For this Spring Open Studios I will have prints from a new series I've been working on: Rocks. I have also created more images of trees.
In addition there will be several copies of the book "Beneath Our Feet,” photographs of sidewalk graffiti in San Francisco. These are handmade—printed on Lokta paper with Japanese binding. Single images of some of the images from this book will also be available as cards.
